Monday, January 27th - Hong Kong, China (Day 2)
It's so nice to be able to sleep a little later and get a slower start to the day. We didn't have any tours lined up for today so weren't on any schedule. It's much more my style. We went to breakfast in the dining room then returned to our suite to plan our day. It's great to come back to our suite every day and everything is clean - bed made, bathroom towels picked up and sink/toilet cleaned. I sure miss that when we go home!!!Since Bob was still feeling a bit under the weather he decided to stay m the room and rest while I took a walk to the mall next to the ship and do a bit of shopping. We are fortunate that our ship docks adjacent to a large shopping complex with every store imaginable! Bob may be sorry he let me loose in such a beautiful shopping area!!I walked passed many jewelry stores, upscale outdoor clothing stores, restaurants, shoe stores and bakeries. I tried to buy a gift at the bakery but they were out of stock. Oh well, it saved Bob some money! Although I shopped at many stores and found some lovely items I decided to wait until we arrive in Vietnam to do more shopping. I returned to the ship and got ready for dinner. Later in the evening we had a local show with a group of local performers who came on board to play some traditional music for us. It's interesting music but our ears are not accustomed to the instruments or sounds that people in this part of the world enjoy. Still, it was fun to hear music from across the globe.
Now. after we have enjoyed a wonderful time in this exciting city, it's time to sail away to our next port which is in Vietnam, one of my favorite countries in the entire world.
