Tuesday, January 14th - Our first full day on board - A Sea Day

Although sea days are meant for relaxing, our day was filled with touring the ship, trying to find our way around this new, larger environment.  We also attended our first talks by guest lecturers.  We have been so fortunate with the weather since we arrived in Japan.  It is the very cold season yet we have had lovely, sunny days although they have been quite chilly, with temperatures in the high 40's or low to mid 50's.  Thankfully, we bought some very warm jackets on last year's cruise in anticipation of the cold temperatures this year so we were quite warm (plus our sweet granddaughters warmed our hearts and arms).  We continued to explore our new surroundings and enjoyed being back on the calm ocean waters.  Tomorrow is our first port and an opportunity to leave the ship for our first excursion!

Sunday, March 9, 2025 - Interesting and Related Story Since this story is not really about Port Elizabeth, it did take place in the waters off of its coast.  I won't divulge the identity of the people involved (at least yet) but rest assured that this is a true story.  Actually, many of you may remember this story from 1991.  There is one piece of interesting history that took place in the waters off this coast that is particularly important to us and I really want to share it with you. It's a story that could have ended in tragedy  but, instead, is the story of a hero.  I hope it brightens your day.....
